In the early part of President Reagan's administration, I sent out a letter and five concepts which I thought would help put our country back on track.  I believe these ideas still apply. I sent the information to the President and information was sent to every Congressman, Senator, and Governor at that time. Out of the 598 letters sent I only received a response from thirteen, most of which were form letters not applying to what I had written.

The evidence from this experience seems to reflect that our government officials think that Americans don't know much about government. Every time I hear a Presidential Candidate running for office I never hear how they plan to fulfill all the things they promise. 

They are afraid to commit themselves to much detail for fear they will turn their voters off.

It's time Americans let our government officials know that we are going to do more than just vote them into office. We want to solve problems, and they should truly represent us by listening more intently to our ideas.
