In closing, I believe "spontaneous" visits into homes across the country - with short periods of dialogue with the common citizen-should help you keep in touch with the average American, enhance your image and create a sense of trust and expectancy all of us want. 

These short trips could be unannounced, with only the host knowing of your appearance in advance. Small guest lists would be provided for security clearances. My home is open to you, Mr. President, for the first such visit.

Additional Comments 

The Vice-President should be on the road visiting the 50 governors working on a relationship that would give the executive branch support in dealing with Congress. Government power could be put back into the hands of the state with one law ruling the states in areas needed. 

The Vice-President could make the "spontaneous" visits with periodic surprise visits by the President This would help the statis of the Vice-President and the executive branch with the States and the people.
