Welfare - Better Living

Welfare - Transition to Better Living and Self-Esteem.
One of the high costs of the nations's welfare system is administration. And part of the problem with our welfare system, I believe, is that it is on a dead-end street that doesn't perpetuate a natural cycle of giving and receiving.

Why not ask our traditional non-profit organizations to distribute welfare aid in return for their non-profit, tax-free status? Not only would this cut administrative costs, it would inject highly-desirable personal interest into the welfare program. Only people can help people .

This need not be a church/state issue. By having non-profit institutions with a genuine desire to help people administer welfare, a new trend in voluntary government assistance would be put into motion.

Additional Comments

People would be helping people. In some cases, the welfare check could be hand-delivered. In large part, the checks would be picked up at non-profit locations where recipients could also benefit from private contributions of food and clothing. As the family money fund develops, welfare would hopefully be reduced.

In time, the welfare system could possibly be funded by creating incentives for individuals who give directly to fair care plan run by non-profit institutions and the family money fund program.
